AJ Rochester has worked in corporate entertainment for the last ten to twelve years. Her comedy background has been an ample training ground for the many varied roles she has fulfilled in this arena.
She is well known as co-host of SBS TV’s top rating series ‘Mum’s the Word’ (second series currently airing Tuesday nights 8pm) and can currently be seen on air on The Lifestyle Channel on Foxtel in her one-hour reality lifestyle documentary ‘Larger than Life’. Her comedic book on the same subject, 'Confessions of a Reformed Dieter', has just been released by Random House, entered the top ten, and has just been sold to the UK and Thailand.
AJ knows what it takes to succeed. A little under two years ago, weighing in at 110 kgs and labelled as obese, she decided to turn her life around. Now she is a whole person lighter, a diminutive size ten and only sixty kilos – literally half her old self. 'Confessions of a Reformed Dieter' is her story. It charts the highs and lows of AJ’s incredible journey, from her first encounters with a nutritionist, personal trainer and psychiatrist to overcoming an early setback – waking up in hospital with a broken leg after downing an illicit cocktail on an empty stomach – and the triumph of shedding that last kilo.
'Confessions' (like AJ) is funny, insightful and inspiring – the story of a woman who lost fifty kilos without losing her sense of humour and discovered a whole new life. She is a shining example of how to succeed not just professionally and physically but personally and emotionally. She is the ‘how to’ in creating the very life you dream of having. All it takes is a few mantras and not too many Tim-Tams.
AJ has worked in corporate entertainment for ten years doing a range of MC work, comedy characters, corporate videos and live shows, writing corporate scripts/ events for Absurd Entertainment and Staging Connections and has done so with great success for companies such as Daikin Australia, Hong Kong Tourism, Big W, The Sydney Olympics and Fuji – to name just a few.
This firecracker of a woman is a great talent and her ability to improvise and adapt to any situation can bring life to any event in any capacity you may need her. Her talks are inspiring not only for people wanting to lose weight but also for all those wishing to transform their lives and who wish to live as well as they can.
