steve vamos: a world of endless change | the introduction of the pc
Steve Vamos looks at the progression of technology over the last 50 years at Australia Speaks, our 50th anniversary celebration.
Steve Vamos has more than 30 years’ experience in the information technology and online media industries and has lived and worked in Australia, the United States and Asia. He currently serves as a non-executive Director of Telstra and as Chairman of Australian startup (and now New York based) Reading Room Inc, a social network for book lovers.
Vamos is the founder and President of the Society for Knowledge Economics (SKE), a not-for-profit think tank established in 2005 to encourage new and better practices in the leadership and management of human and other intangible resources, and create economic and social value in knowledge based and globally connected economies.
He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the UTS Business School, the former Worldwide Sales and International Operations Manager for Microsoft Corporation’s Online Services Group - responsible for the organisation’s international business in more than 30 countries - and the former CEO of Microsoft Australia and New Zealand and ninemsn.
The Australian Financial Review has twice included Vamos in its list of the top five most influential members of the Australian technology industry.
