Cameron Daddo began his multi-award winning career in entertainment over 30 years ago.

He has covered just about every angle - an award winning actor/ film producer /directing in film/television to acting in musical and traditional theatre. From a published singer/songwriter to magazine columnist; from a television host to radio announcer.

Current work

Cameron is currently working on his first book - a memoir of his twenty-five years living as an expat with his wife Alison. A time that saw them go through major ups and downs, both in career and personal lives… as Cameron will tell you, “it can be a difficult balance work and home - you cant be pregnant in one room and not in another… how you behave in each will undoubtably show up in the other.”

They were the darlings of the Aussie media when they left in 1992. Just eight months married, Cameron aged 26 (Alison 22), they raised 3 children, saw the internet and the new millennium come into existence. Together they went through earthquakes, fires and floods- both physical and metaphorical. The GFC rendered them without a home and work, yet they managed to come out more positive, braver and wiser as a result. This is a key note speech that Cameron is excited about and happy to share.

Cameron can be heard from 8pm-midnight seven nights on Sydney and Melbourne’s newest FM station SMOOTH FM, where he has established himself #1FM. He is also the host of Mellow Music and other music specials on FOXTEL’s SMOOTH music channel.

He is set to star in The Haunting - a two hander play adapted from the Ghost Stories of Charles Dickens by Hugh Janes in June at The Athenaeum Theatre, Melbourne in June.

Previous experience

Film: Cameron happily works between the US and Australia. In film, he has worked with some of Hollywoods biggest names - including visionary’s David Lynch and George Lucas. He caught the attention of US casting directors with the Aaron Spelling hit Models Inc, then went on to star in FX-the Series and Hope Island. Since then, he has appeared in many top rating US television shows, including all of the CSI’s, NCSI LosVegas and NCSI Los Angeles, the Mentalist, and recurred on Boston Legal. He featured as the Vice President in a season 7 of 24 and recently played the President in the hit US series, Nikita. His movie credits include Inland Empire, Big Momma’s House 2 and IMPASSE (which he also produced, will have it’s Australian release this year on the Nine Network). He also enjoys a worldwide cult status with the fans of the Anne of Green Gables series for his portrayal of Jack Garrison in Anne 3.

Awards: Cameron is a multiple Logie and Peoples Choice award winner for his work on mini-series The Heroes, Golden Fiddles and Tracks Of Glory. He enjoyed a recurring role on Aussie TV hit Packed to the Rafters and the recent movie for TV on the Nine Network, Beaconsfield.

Stage: Stage credits include - Big River, (for which he won the MO award for Male Theatre Performer of the Year, among several others), the Wizard of OZ, The Hunting of the Snark and Legally Blonde. In 2015, he received raves for his efforts in Los Angeles for the inaugural ATC production of Holding the Man directed by Larry Moss. Cameron spent the 2016 in playing Captain Von Trapp in the Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new version of The Sound of Music.

Music: It is an understatement that music has played a major role in Cameron’s ever-evolving career. His life in the entertainment business began busking on the streets of Melbourne with a mate from high school. As singer/songwriters they soon began collaborating on original tunes and formed The Nearly Smooth Guys, successfully playing the clubs around town. Through this, Cameron was asked to be involved in the newest of talent programs Star Search, which he rode all the way to to finale. He won the hearts of the audience and was soon in front of the cameras as a host of Channel 10’s innovative afternoon show Off the Dish... a year later, he became the host Perfect Match... and that they say, began it all.
