Dr David Smith, author, film-maker, zoologist and one-time Channel Seven weatherman, has travelled widely in the cause of science and cinematography. David has written 35 scientific papers and six books, including two racy and critically-acclaimed thrillers, and has written, directed, presented and/or filmed more than 20 broadcast documentaries.
Under the banner of his company, imaginACTION films, David has travelled the length and breadth of Australia and as far afield as Canada, Sweden, Russia and the Amazon Basin. Fondly remembered as Resident Zoologist on the Don Lane and Bert Newton shows, and as host of David Smith's Earthwatch on ABC TV, David is a lively and authoritative speaker with a wealth of experience and a refreshingly whimsical and optimistic approach.
