Glenn McGrath is the premier fast bowler in Australia and winner of the first prestigious Alan Border Medal. Since his International Test debut in 1993/94 in Perth against New Zealand, Glenn's cricketing career has had as much pace as his bowling. He was one of the quickest Australians to attain 100 test wickets—achieving this in only 23 tests. Glenn has increased his wicket-taking excellence and currently has 167 wickets in 37 test matches to his name.
On eight separate occasions he has repeated an admirable performance—taking five wickets in an innings. Against England at Lords in 1997, Glenn took 8 for 38, the best ever achieved by an Australian. In 1996 Glenn was the highest wicket-taker for the calendar year, and on numerous occasions Glenn has been the leading wicket-taker. In the 1996/97 cricketing season Glenn was awarded Man of the Series against England in 1997 and International Cricketer of the year in 1996/97.
A formidable opponent with a fiery temper, Glenn's pace, bounce and accuracy consistently produces hostile spells of fast bowling. Glenn's determination, passion and winner's instinct make him a fierce competitor and entertaining speaker.
