Dylan Lewis, that guy on Nova 100 in the mornings who most recently won an ACRA Award for ‘Best Newcomer’.
Dylan quickly shot to cult fame on ABC TV’s national Saturday morning live music show ‘Recovery’. Dylan hosted ‘Recovery’ for 3 years and his infectious persona brought a new element into Saturday morning television and catapulted the popularity of live music and interviewing up to a new level. His warmth and individuality aided in attaining artists that would appear exclusively on ‘Recovery’ whilst visiting Australia.
The year 2000 saw Dylan presenting the national television program ‘The 10.30 Slot’ on Friday evenings, another of ABC TV’s popular music and pop culture extravaganzas. Dylan's association in the music world was cemented when he became the host of the ‘Pepsi Live’ television program and radio show in 2001 - continuing this role for three years on the only Australian commercial television music program, ‘Pepsi Live’ airing on Channel 10 Tuesday nights and Sunday mornings.
His star studded list of celebrities interviewed includes Stevie Wonder, Sting, Kylie Minogue, Bjork, Boys2Men, Russell Crowe, Natalie Imbruglia, Silverchair, Faith No More, Emma Bunton, Geri Haliwell, Holly Valance, Metallica, Oasis, The Streets, Shaggy, No Doubt, De La Soul, Public Enemy, Pulp, Reece Witherspoon, Billy Zane, Eric Bana, and the list goes on…
As a huge fan of the series, Dylan was thrilled to accept an offer to be in the Australian Celebrity Big Brother. When it came to the public having their say on the final eviction night, Dylan was the overwhelming winner of Celebrity Big Brother. Last year Dylan appeared on Channel 9’s ratings winner, Celebrity Circus where his natural comic ability and willingness to take on all challenges thrown at him, once again made him an absolute standout of the series. He has also presented on Channel 9’s Winter in the City Specials over the past couple of years and won Celebrity Singing Bee in 2008.
One of Dylan’s career highlights was when he appeared as an extra in ‘Star Wars Episode 2 – Attack of the Clones’. Continuing on the feature film ride, Dylan landed a role in ‘The Real Thing’ released in Australia in 2002 and has played the lead role in two short films, ‘Like It Is’ and ‘RAY’, as well as many minor film and TV roles.
Dylan graduated from Melbourne University with a Bachelor of Education in secondary drama and music in '94. He dabbles in ridiculous pastimes such as juggling, fire-breathing and magic. He plays piano, clarinet, saxophone, turntables, accordion, harmonica and didgeridoo.
Dylan has hosted many launches, corporate functions and awards events. The rare experience of hosting an abundance of television shows combined with his professionalism, elite talent and ‘wow’ factor allows him to deliver at the highest level.
He has a dog and a cat and three fish. He collects Star Wars action figures, masks, musical instruments and camels…and likes romantic dinners and strolls along the beach.
Catch Dylan on Nova 100, Monday to Friday 9am to 12noon.
