The Dining Experience
Australia's globe-trotting tribute to the BBC's best-loved sitcom continues to delight audiences around the world, selling out shows and winning five star reviews wherever it goes. Touring Australia and 20 other countries in 2013, the show is also maintaining a residency in London's West End and performing eight shows at the Sydney Opera House.
Internationally acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, this is fully immersive, highly improvised comedy theatre at its best, a 'faultless' interactive tribute to Fawlty Towers the TV series. The fun starts as the audience waits to be seated then hurtles along as Sybil, Basil and Manuel serve a three-course meal with a good dollop of their trademark mayhem - while the audience play the part of their restaurant diners. Do expect confusion, chaos and all the best gags in this 'rip-roaringly hilarious night out' (This Is London)... just don't mention the war!
- 'The cast is excellent and the laughs never-ending' (Herald Sun, Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2013)
- 'There's a reason this show constantly gets rave reviews. It is brilliant.' (Adelaide Now headline, Adelaide Fringe 2013)
- 'Quite literally sidesplitting' (The West Australian, FringeWorld Perth 2013)
- 'A two-hour eat, drink and laugh sensation' (Daily Telegraph, Edinburgh Fringe)
Born in Brisbane in 1997, Faulty Towers The Dining Experience made its international debut in 2008 at the Edinburgh Fringe and opened a residency in London's West End in 2012 where it continues and continues throughout 2013. Eight teams of cast now tour the world non-stop - four teams are based in Australia, and four in the UK.
The two-hour interactive performance revolves around a three-course meal (included in the ticket price). It starts as Basil and Manuel seat the guests and continues as everyone eats, ending before dessert. It is performed typically in arts centres, theatre restaurants and hotels. Versions of the show can be commissioned for private appearances and special presentations. Rated PG... Basil requests no riff-raff please!
