Imogen Brough's music has an ethereal quality: earthy vocals combine with creative, lyrical piano and violin in a soft-rock, ballad style. Hints of Celtic and Irish music surround her melodic song writing, of love stories and of the sea. In 2013 the 21 year old Victorian became an instant sensation on the second season of The Voice Australia with stunning performances including David Guetta's 'She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)' and Florence and the Machine's 'Never Let Me Go', which has to date been viewed over one million times on YouTube.
Performing a collection of covers and original music, Imogen has been writing music from a young age: a pianist since the age of six, she began formal vocal training at 13, her love for folk and Celtic music beginning from a very young age listening to Enya and Loreena McKennitt at home. In 2007 Imogen toured Europe as a backing singer in the Sweethearts, an experience that opened her eyes to an amazing world of music at prestigious events inlcuding the Monteux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the Poretta Soul Festival in Italy.
Over the past few years she has sung at The Bended Elbow, Beav's Bar, the Queenscliff Music Festival, the Aireys Inlet Open Mic Festival and the Beechworth Celtic Festival, as well as weddings and other private functions throughout Victoria, and has released an EP titled Counting Waves which debuted at number 9 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts.
A current singing student at the Victorian College of the Arts, in 2011 her songs 'Prettiest Thing' and 'Heart' reached number 11 and 13 in the pop genre on Triple J's Unearthed.
