Jack Newton won his first professional tournament in 1971 - the Dutch Open - after turning professional just one year previously. His successes accumulated rapidly over the next decade as he won titles such as the Benson & Hedges Classic, British Match Play, the Australian Open and the Buick Goodwrench Open. But in 1983 Jack's golfing career was brought to a tragic and abrupt end after he lost his right arm and eye in a near fatal accident. But it was not long before Jack was back on the scene. In his current roles, which include television and radio commentator, newspaper reporter, golf course designer and Chairman of the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation, his involvement in golf may have modified, but has certainly not diminished. A fascinating, motivational and entertaining speaker, the Jack Newton Story is nothing short of inspirational.
