Justin Sampson worked with ESPN Star Sports for 11 years as a rugby presenter and commentator for the Six Nations Championships, the Tri Nations, the 1999, 2003 and 2007 Rugby World Cups and The Rugby Show. He has also commentated in the IRB Sevens series in Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, as well as other rugby events in the region since 1997. In addition, he has written articles for the New Paper in Singapore, and on espnstar.com.
Prior to joining ESPN STAR Sports, Justin worked with the Singapore Rugby Union for over five years as National Coach from 1996 to 2000, and 2002, after a successful three years as player/coach for Kubota Corporation in Tokyo, Japan, from 1993 to '96. He was also the Assistant Coach and Technical Advisor for the Indonesian National Rugby team from 2007 to 2009.
Justin Sampson has played provincial representative rugby for Country Origin, North Harbour in Sydney, from 1991 to '92, as well as NSW Country, where he played the All Blacks in 1988 and British Lions in 1989. He was also captain of his 1st Division club in Sydney, Northern Suburbs from 1990 to '93. He was a runner up in the Sydney Morning Herald Best and Fairest Award in 1990 as well as in the Rothmans Medal in 1991.
In 2006 Justin founded Sampson Marketing Services, a sponsorship consultancy, event management and corporate hospitality company, and has become a prominent motivational speaker, master of ceremonies and celebrity auctioneer, at a variety of functions which include corporate events, fund raising, conferences and seminars within Australia and Asia. Jason is passionate about teamwork, and the links between coaching a professional sporting team and business management and leadership. He was recently one of the MCs for the Official Hospitality for the three Bledisloe Cups in Asia (Hong Kong in 2008 and 2010, and Tokyo in 2009), and all the Wallaby tests with the ARU in 2012. He was the MC for all of DHL's RWC hospitality events throughout the Asia Pacific region in 2011, for the F1 in 2012 and 2013, and for the past two years he has hosted the Weary Dunlop and Chairman's Club hospitality for the Melbourne Rebels at home games.
