Karilyn Fazio has worked in the people development sector for the past six years as an Executive Coach and team facilitator. She is a committee member of the International Coaching Federation, member of the Executive Coaching Association, Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) Curtin University, Dip. Ed. University of Melbourne and is commencing her Masters in Organisational Coaching at the University of Sydney in July 2005.
During that time she has provided one-on one coaching and on-going mentoring to many CEOs, General Managers and their teams from companies as diverse as Smorgon Steel, Nestle, Intimo Lingerie, Hocking Stuart Real Estate, Meridian Financial Pty Ltd, Media Manoeuvres, Fernwood Fitness Centres and, with her previous employers, Pioneer Australia, PMP Print, CSL, EGL Global Logistics and AL-KO International.
Karilyn’s strengths as a coach are in her ability to dismantle entrenched belief systems and patterns and to assist her clients to see the costs of their current behaviour and commit to altering it. She is strong in the area of interpersonal and communication skills, presentation skills, values clarification, motivation and performance enhancement, influencing, accountability structures, personal “branding”, networking and relationship and team management generally.
Karilyn Fazio has successfully coached men to adopt more affiliative and empowering leadership styles with subsequent improvements in team morale and results, but is also drawn to empowering women to greater confidence as leaders and to trusting themselves in business.
She has also provided facilitated workshops and team coaching to many leadership teams assisting them to understand the team dynamic, alter and move forward. She is also a powerful and engaging presenter and presents on a variety of topics.
Karilyn has simple but powerful coaching techniques that are customised to support clients to reach their goals. She draws on her rich and diverse life experiences, a background in secondary teaching, a career as a Senior Account Director at global advertising agency Lintas:Worldwide, development of her own businesses as well as years studying many disciplines of personal development.
Her coaching at first examines the belief systems that underpin our actions and results. She believes it is essential to look at any self-limiting beliefs, our language and patterns before we can achieve the outcomes we want. Coaching will include: assessment (using The Opic Group, Softskills assessment or internal assessment tools), developing and agreeing the coaching brief, dismantling our beliefs, examining purpose, values, and vision, setting measurable goals, defining focused action plans and then using a variety of validated tools and techniques to develop competencies and remove blocks to achieve valuable changes in clients’ professional and personal lives.
Specific topics may also be covered: time management, sales training, communications skills (both empathetic listening and effective confrontation), presentation skills, leadership skills, accountability structures, managing performance reviews and coach the coach training.
