Kerrie Kelly brings 30 years of leadership experience in strategy development and execution, operations management, public policy development and negotiations to her engagements with international strategy execution firm KRStrategy. She has led several organisations as CEO and held numerous positions with P&L responsibility across industries and organisation types.
Kerrie began her career as a business transactions attorney. After almost a decade, she became in-house general counsel for ANZ Executors & Trustee Company Limited, and later took over the trust services line of business there. She quickly moved to take on roles in the larger company, the worldwide ANZ Banking Group, in the areas of strategy and restructuring. She then took her skills to a private, family business in the manufacturing sector where she was instrumental to the strategic planning required to handle a phase of rapid growth into Asia. It was after that position that Kerrie began to work in organisations that influenced policy and infrastructure at the regional, national and then international level for the next 20 years. She began this work at a regional transportation body, RTA (Roads & Traffic Authority), where she rose to report to the CEO working on corporate strategy and operations. She then took on national-level roles, becoming the national director at the Trustee Corporations Association of Australia where she developed and executed the strategic plan for the industry, and then, as an executive at ASX Perpetual Registrars Limited, she led the national compliance and operations group and handled all legal functions.
She has spent the last 10 years in various leadership positions. She was the CEO of the Financial Planning Association of Australia Limited and then the Insurance Council of Australia Limited, and, most recently, she was director general of the Association of British Insurers in London. In these positions, she has led the industries, developing strategy and influencing public policy and professional standards at the state, federal, and international levels.
Kerrie has also held numerous director positions in financial services across the last 15 years in public and private sector organisations. Former directorships in Australia include HSBC Bank Australia, the Financial Literacy Advisory Board, the Financial Ombudsman Service, and the National Finance Industry Training Advisory Body. Kerrie was also a member of the Better Regulation Strategy Group, which is part of the UK Government's Department of Business, Innovation and Skills. Currently, she is a director of Westmead Medical Research Foundation and a member of the State Advisory Council for the Committee for the Economic Development of Australia.
