Matt Mccredie has spent over 20 years in law enforcement, including three years in the New South wales Corrective Services as a Prison Officer at Long Bay prison and 18 years as a New South Wales Police Officer. During his police service he worked in General Duties at Surry Hills, Redfern and Chatswood Police Stations followed by plain clothes duties in the Sydney District and Northern Suburbs anti-theft units. For the last 10 years of his service he served as a General Purpose Police Dog Handler with his German Shepherds Merlin and Rex.
After a series of injuries sustained on duty he was forced out of the job he loved and has now turned to another passion: writing books. His first book, Blue Paws, was published in 2009 and quickly became a best-seller.
Matt is also an accomplished public speaker and motivator who has relayed his experiences over the past 20 years with an interesting and entertaining insight to the world of police dogs.

"Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear."
