Previous Experience
Education: Pallavi has lectured for universities such as the University of Sydney, Australian National University, Macquarie University, Western Sydney University & Australian Catholic University, including as the Convenor of Advanced Administrative Law & Advanced Topics in Public Law at Macquarie University.
Charity and Philanthropy: Pallavi has also been a Spokesperson for disadvantaged groups, presented submissions before Government Committees, and positively contributed to changes to Government policy to increase access to justice. She has served on several Boards, and currently serves on the NSW Ministerial Council for Women’s Economic Opportunity, and the Multicultural Consultation Council of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Board. Pallavi is also an Appointed Supporter of the Joint Federal & State Government campaign to stop Domestic or family violence (DV). In addition, she was the first Indian Australian woman to be appointed as a People of Australia Ambassador by the Federal Government, and is a former Lifeline Counsellor.
Media: A popular and well-known speaker and media commentator, Pallavi has spoken at Global and National Conferences. She participated in the Ethics Centre Intelligence Squared Debate with Stan Grant, Rita Panahi & Jack Thompson, which was broadcast on ABC TV & BBC World. She has appeared on Skynews, ABC TV Q & A, The Drum & the 7.30 Report and BBC World. Her opinion pieces have been widely published, including by the SMH, ABC & SBS. As a second generation Australian of Indian origin, Pallavi is trained in Indian classical and contemporary dance and is a model for Indian outfits such as saris on Channel 9 and the NSW Art Gallery. CMRC has recently invited Pallavi Sinha to be a guest speaker at Inspiring Change: The Power of a Woman Conference which was held at Parkroyal Parramatta on 19 June 2014. Pallavi was a very professional speaker, inspirational and thought provoking. She expresses herself very clearly and has a lot of experiences to draw from. Ms Pallavi Sinha has been assisting the Indian Support Center (ISC) as its “Brand Ambassador” ever since ISC was established in March 2015. As the Brand Ambassador of the ISC, she has been doing tremendous work in spreading ISC’s aims and objectives to the Community. In particular, I would like to commend the work she did as an “Anchor” for the creation of a DVD that ISC created in promoting its activities to the Community. She did this at a time when she was hard pressed for time while her family member was in hospital. In addition to assisting in the creation of this DVD, Pallavi has been actively promoting the ISC’s key program areas - new migrant support, Domestic Violence support and Senior Citizens support through the Print, TV and Radio media to the Community at large. Ms Pallavi Sinha, with a strong backing of family value systems which she inherited from her parents, possesses those rare talents that would bring credibility to any community institution. I met Pallavi first time in PICAC conference in Novatel Hotel at Parramatta. She was the M.C. and I was impressed with the way she conducted the conference. In October 2015, Aussie Indian Age Care Support Holistic Association (AASHA), held a Seniors Mental Health Forum and Pallavi accepted my invitation to be the M.C. for this. She did an excellent job. I am very impressed with her work, commitment to community service, her passion for improving the awareness for domestic violence and many other social issues. She is a lovely person, with a bubbly personality and as a young person very committed to serve the community. She has connected me to many other people who are doing lot of work to make Australia a better place. She is an excellent public speaker with knowledge about current issues in our society.
