Speaker Profile
The man Peter Morrissey has been a dominant force in Australian fashion for twenty years. Continually innovative since he launched his first collection in the wildly creative early-80’s Sydney fashion scene, Morrissey developed his talent as part of the OX co-op in Darlinghurst in 1982. From this was born the Morrissey Edmiston partnership, which opened stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Morrissey established his Rock 'n' Roll credentials over the next years, dressing Kylie Minogue, Michael Hutchence and INXS and other major stars. Supermodels Elle Macpherson and Helena Christensen became fans and Morrissey’s designs were sold in NYC and LA.
Morrissey’s achievements soon earned recognition from the fashion world. Feted by magazine editors, together with Edmiston he won four AFI awards, including the Outstanding Achievement award.
The new label MORRISSEY was launched in 1997.
Peter Morrissey says “MORRISSEY is about celebrating life to the full. I don’t make clothes to protect you from the rain; I make them so you forget it’s raining. I believe people wear my sunglasses to feel like a rock star – not to keep the sun out of their eyes.”
Designed with a modern lifestyle in mind, yet brimming with individuality MORRISSEY collections always sparkle with a cool and sensual attitude capturing the essence of the label.
MORRISSEY today encompasses a diverse range of products for men and women, including apparel, accessories, jewellery, sunglasses and underwear.
Morrissey’s reputation made him the obvious choice when Qantas appointed him to design the new uniforms for all staff, and the new vision took to the skies in September 2003. “I always wanted my own plane,” said Morrissey when the appointment was announced, “Now I have an Airline!”

"The assistance provided by Nancy and Kris with both speakers we used was invaluable as they took time to understand exactly what we were trying to achieve. I think this resulted in as having two speakers who really matched our objectives. The follow up work done by Danielle also ensured everything went smoothly."
