Shane Toohey is the designer and presenter of one of Australia’s most innovative and successful training concepts.
Shane’s programs are based on a patent pending interactive DVD technology that transports participants to some of the most awesome places on the planet – high mountain ranges, the African savannah and the boardroom of global business corporations.
Shane works in a diverse range of industries, including: banking, finance, travel, information technology, pharmaceuticals, retail, engineering and consulting.
He conducts training with an extensive array of clients throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and North America. Corporate clients include: St George Bank, Westpac Bank, ANZ Bank, National Australia Bank, Commonwealth Bank, Telstra, Seagate Technologies, IBM, McDonalds, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, American Express, Deloitte Consulting, KPMG and EDI Downer, among others.
As a conference facilitator, Shane conducts events ranging from small forums for Executive Leaders through to large conferences with 300+ delegates. Programs are customized to suit each client’s needs, to meet the client’s specific training and development objectives. Courses range in length from several hours to twelve months, subject to client requirements.
Shane’s approach presents a unique blend of experience in leadership, teamwork and business facilitation. In addition to leading diverse teams in the business world, Shane is the only Australian to have climbed and skied remote mountains on all seven continents. He has organised and led expeditions to Russia, Turkey, Africa, South America and New Zealand.
While delivering motivational presentations about his mountaineering accomplishments Shane recognised a need for greater engagement and interactivity in conference and training events. So in 2002, Shane started Peak Teams with his business partner, Ian Schubach, a former South African game ranger and climber, to bring the learnings of adventure to top organizations around the world.
The success of the Peak Teams approach has recently culminated in the co-development of Online Diagnostics, E-learning programs and an all new Interactive Business Management Simulation with one of Peak Teams’ key clients. These new programs now provide all clients the option of Integrated Learning Journeys to develop individual and team capabilities for sustained peak performance.
