Profile

Gordon Bray is acknowledged as Australia's long standing "voice of rugby". He is one of Australia's most experienced sports commentators after more than 40 years in the media industry.

Current work

Gordon has assumed the role of Business Development Ambassador for the Concierge Travel Group - a winner of Australia's best travel agency and the SNP Security Group, Australia's largest private security company.

He has been an ambassador for Legacy for more than two decades, served on the council of Pymble Ladies' College for seven years and is currently on the advisory board for corporate hospitality group The Legends Club.

Previous experience

Gordon began his broadcasting career in 1969 as a Specialist Trainee with ABC Sport. He spent 25 years commentating for the national broadcaster, before a short stint at Ten and 16 years at Seven. He has called nearly 400 rugby test matches and covered all six Rugby World Cups; Additionally he has commentated eight summer and winter Olympics and five Commonwealth Games, completed six Sydney to Hobarts and called 25 sports at international level.

Gordon Bray has produced and hosted several TV documentaries including Sydney to Hobart specials, Westfield Disabled Games and the acclaimed golf special Swinging Thru Ireland which took viewers on a guided tour of Ireland's most famous golf courses.

Gordon is the author of six books on rugby including best-seller The Australian Rugby Companion. He is the recipient of a one-off Prime Minister's medal for contribution to sports broadcasting, the Order of Australia for services to sports broadcasting, community and rugby, and the Penguin Award for Australia's Best Sports Presenter.
