Current work
Hilary has also worked extensively in New Zealand on both radio and television. In 2021, Hilary took up the role of host for The Hits 3pm Pick-Up show and also a Co-Host on the game show, Give Us A Clue.
She was TV3’s 6pm network anchor for many years before moving to TVNZ where she now hosts Seven Sharp with Jeremy Wells.
Hilary spent many years working in morning radio as well, both on Auckland’s More FM and Radio Live.
The multi-award winning newsreader and presenter, Hilary is an accomplished MC and public speaker.

Background: Originally from Wellington, Hilary started her career as a radio reporter in the Wairarapa. She moved to Christchurch in 1993 to take up a reporting role at TV3 and then Auckland as a reporter and presenter on 3 News. She anchored TV3’s news for many years before moving to TVNZ where she has been a presenter on both Breakfast and Seven Sharp.
Public Speaking: Hilary is an accomplished public speaker with a particular passion and focus on issues that affect women. She is both funny and personable and able to share stories from her own career which relate to the audience.

Hilary was engaging from the moment she arrived. She was engaging with attendees before the formal proceedings commenced, was relaxed and put others at ease. Her presentation hit the mark and she delivered it very authentically, drawing everyone in. She struck the perfect balance between seriousness and humour in her delivery and in doing so charmed the audience. She answered audience questions with sincerity and stayed around for a wee while after the formalities allowing time for photos and selfies, at all times being her bubbly and natural self. We have had a lot of very positive comments about Hilary from attendees who found her presentation very inspiring and she as a person to be delightful.
ETC is an annual event which features a different keynote speaker each year, so we've had some amazing speakers, but Hilary is now at the top of our list! She is so engaging, funny and entertaining; a true professional. She was also very gracious in accommodating everyone who wanted to get a photo! It would be a no-brainer to have Hilary back!
