Jason Ball is widely regarded as one of the competitions premier big men. A draftee from Swan District in Western Australia, he played 103 games with the West Coast Eagles, kicking 114 goals and playing in the 1994 premiership side.
A versatile ruckman/key forward, Jason was traded to Sydney in 2000. Injuries have interrupted his career with the Swans, however he excelled in 2001, 2003 and 2004, leading Sydney to finals campaigns. Jason played 23 of a possible 24 games in 2004, enjoying his best season in the harbour city. A strong, workmanlike tall, Jason has always been a key asset in Sydney ’s hardened, defensive game plan.
Jason announced his retirement at the end of the 2005 season. His magnificent career ended on 193 games, with 2 premiership medallions to his name.
