Karl Langdon is a sports broadcaster, former West Coast Eagles star player, speaker and master of ceremonies.

During his 100 games with the West Coast Eagles, Karl was one of the club's most high profile players. A key member of the club's first premiership team in 1992, he also represented Western Australia on five occasions.

Current work

Since his retirement from professional sport in 1996, Karl has been highly sought after for multimedia roles and is currently a commentator and broadcaster on Radio 6PR and Macquarie Sports Radio. He also writes an opinion piece for the Sunday Times. He won the Perth Football Media Guild's Most Outstanding Media Talent Award in 2005 and has won the Guild's Most Outstanding Radio Commentator award on several occasions.

An entertaining motivational speaker and accomplished master of ceremonies, Karl is at home hosting both corporate and sporting functions.

Previous experience

School: A captain of the cricket, football and athletics teams at Guildford Grammar School, in 1985 Karl was named the school's Sportsman of the Year, becoming the only student in its history to captain all three sporting teams.

Cricket: He went on to represent Western Australia in both U16 and U19 level cricket, and played first grade cricket for Claremont/Cottesloe Cricket Club. At the 1983 Australian U16 championships he was selected in the Australian team alongside Peter Sumich.

Football: Karl was recruited by the Subiaco Football Club in 1985, representing the Lions on 69 occasions, including in the WAFL premiership-winning team of 1986. The following year he was drafted by the West Coast Eagles, and would go on to make 100 appearances for the team.
