Previous experience
Background: Born in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia, Nick Vujicic arrived into this world with neither arms nor legs. And what should have been a day of celebration immediately turned into a day of grief. Having had no prior warning (and no medical explanation) for his condition, Nick's parents mourned their son's physical state. How could their baby survive? How could he lead a happy life? How could...? With so many unknowns, his parents expected the worst.
Rejection: True to many of their fears, Nick’s circumstances proved difficult. While Nick enjoyed unconditional love and support at home, he experienced overwhelming rejection at school. Nick's physical differences became an avenue for bullying, little self-worth, depression, and suicidal thoughts for most of his growing up years. It was not until his late teens that Nick received the strength to change his attitude and discover joy and purpose outside his circumstances. Today, Nick travels the world to inspire millions of people with his life example.
Motivation: In 2007, Nick Vujicic founded Attitude is Altitude, Inc., a motivational organisation dedicated to helping individuals meet life's challenges with purpose, perspective, principles, and perseverance. With Attitude is Altitude, Nick speaks to millions of individuals worldwide, imparting the insights he has learned through his challenging life circumstances.
