Clive Scott has worked in the hotel industry for more than 30 years, starting his 5-star hotel career at the Hilton on the Park in Melbourne while completing a Diploma in Hotel Management and a Degree in Economics. He worked for the Hilton chain for 21 years in places such as Sydney, Cairns, Thailand, Korea and Japan, often in senior Food and Beverage positions.
Clive has also spent time as the General Manager Human Resources for the Accor group of hotels (Australia/New Zealand/Japan), and is regarded as one of Accor's most experienced General Managers in the Asia Pacific Region, having managed the Novotel Twin Waters Resort, Novotel and Hotel Ibis, Sydney Olympic Park, Western Sydney Hotels Accor, and the Sofitel Wentworth Sydney.
In 2005, Clive returned to his home town, Melbourne, to complete a $32 million refurbishment to the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins in time for the Commonwealth Games in March 2006. Clive continues in his role as General Manager overseeing further upgrades to the hotel's functions rooms and new restaurant No35, as well as being actively involved in Melbourne's business and arts community.
In addition to his busy role as General Manager at the hotel, Clive is also the Area General Manager – Sofitel Australia.
