Since concentrating his energies in the field of sports media, Jimmy Smith's career has gone from strength to strength.
With a background of 11 years of professional rugby league, both in Australia and the UK, Jimmy is uniquely placed to comment on the demands of the professional athlete in the modern era.
In 2007 Jimmy signed on as expert commentator for Triple M radio's inaugural Monday Night NRL coverage.
Jimmy is also a regular panellist on The Sunday Footy Show at Nine.
He previously co-hosted 2SM's Talkin' Sport for three years.
Jimmy was born and raised on a farm outside Cootamundra in the Riverina area of NSW.
Upon finishing school, he joined the Sydney Roosters as well as undertaking an Agricultural Economics degree at Sydney University.
Jimmy later played for Western Suburbs and South Sydney in the NRL competition before rounding out his career with a stint in England for Salford.
Jimmy played over 150 first grade games and after retiring worked for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the role of media liaison officer.
