Aaron
McCarthy

Lively TV presenter and MC.

Profile

Aaron's entrance into the entertainment industry was anything but conventional.

At 16 years of age he chose between his two passions of sport and music and transferred schools to follow his dream of becoming a professional basketball player. At only 19 years of age his dream was shattered when an injury resulted in a knee reconstruction putting an end to his future sporting aspirations.

It was a difficult time but with a new bionic knee and a new lease on life Aaron set off on a new journey.

Current work

In 2014 you can catch Aaron as the host of the Friday night live variety entertainment show Live on Bowen in its fourth straight season as the RMITV flagship show on C31 airing around Australia. He also hosts the weekly C31 Melbourne based entertainment series Melbourne 22 and is now in his second season of the Australian based travel show What's Up Downunder with Channel 10 and OneHD.

Previous experience

Education: In his words, he earned a degree in 'fun' whilst studying Recreation Leadership at Victoria University before setting off to put it into practise sailing the seven seas on cruise liners as the party guy: hosting activities, events, parties and stage shows.

TV: It was here that by chance, Aaron was asked to appear as a weather reporter in an onboard breakfast TV program. This small role led him to a regular spot on the show as Aussie weather presenter/crocodile hunter 'Crock Man'.

Aaron went on to present in other cruise ship TV shows and corporate videos out of studios in Los Angeles, later returning home to Australia to spend time with his family and further develop his skills in TV presenting.

Voice over: In his spare time Aaron now works as a voice over artist for entertainment brands Dainty Entertainment and Frontier Touring. You may have heard some of his recent ads for touring artists such as SEAL, The Arctic Monkeys, Simple Plan, George Michael, Miley Cyrus and Enrique Iglesias.

MC: Aaron has also established himself as a much sought after MC hosting events for Headspace, Optus, Brother, Carers Victoria, St Kilda Festival, The National Breast Cancer Foundation, The Shane Warne Foundation, SIFE Australia, Beach Volleyball Australia, C.U.B, Nova100, Melbourne Spring Fashion Week's Made In Melbourne and the Miss World Australia National Finals and Crowning Gala.

Host: In 2013 Aaron took to our screens in his commercial television debut as a host on Channel 10's national travel show What's Up Downunder with Frankie J Holden. His television adventures have also seen him host a 13 part travel series with Sunset Films titled Victoria's Islands, which continues to air throughout many Australian states.

Travel: At the end of 2013 his travel adventures also saw him complete an overseas trip to Singapore to shoot a pilot for a new international travel show.
