David Foster has represented Australia in woodchopping more than 30 times, and has captained the Australian team 23 times. He has won the Australian Axeman of the Year a record-breaking nine times in a row; and in 1990 he was awarded Axeman of the Decade. There is not a major event in Australia and New Zealand that David hasn’t competed in and won. And when he competed against the Americans he took three world records from them!
A family man, committed to the Tasmanian and Australian community, David Foster is also a great achiever. He has the ability to relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds. His mammoth size and stature are only surpassed by his great outlook on life, and his inspirational story - “Dreams do come true” - shows that no matter where you come from you can reach the pinnacle of a chosen career.
