'Spoons' Perry

Spoonfuls of entertainment and fun!

For such a simple instrument Deb “Spoons” Perry certainly makes it her own.

Deb is the only Australian to be featured on the new American talent TV show Forever Young hosted by Ellen de Generes and Steve Harvey, the show proves that talent has no age limit!

Deb takes you on a joyful ride into her world of spoons. Her energetic, positive attitude inspires all ages to just 'have a go.'

With her percussion background and using her body as a drum kit, playing to many genres of music with her extensive array of spoons from around the world, learn how Deb has taken them from her kitchen and onto the world stage.

In a typical session you will form a spoon band and then make an incredibly skillful racket.

All Deb’s sessions are tailored specially to fit the attendees - be it a performance or as an inspirational speaker who can include participation.

Perfect for a Dinner, Conference, Team Building Session, Energiser, Office Party, Special Event or Exhibition.

Recently she brilliantly performed and taught over 2,000 people how to play spoons in the Sydney Opera House for TEDx Sydney 2016, claiming a Guinness World Record for the Largest Spoon Ensemble.

Deb also readily continues to participate in numerous community events and often visits education and aged care facilities.

In my time at Warner Music Australia I’ve been lucky enough to interview and work with a lot of big name artists from all over the world, but I’ve gotta say the most charismatic and likeable personality I’ve ever encountered is a spoon playing Grandma from Bridgetown Western Australia named Deb Perry. Creative Content Manager, Warner Music

She has a charismatic, wildly energetic on stage presence that can cross all genres. She has guest performed with many acts over the years in a vast array of settings and crowds react wildly to her feel good, manic antics. Having said that, Deb is the consummate professional and takes pride in the preparation and research that she puts in to these very special one off performances.

Former Chairperson of Blues at Bridgetown

Was perfect…entertaining and instructive…fantastic, good on ya Deb. I enjoyed your personal approach and easy manner, thankyou. That was great fun… great and unusual entertainment… we should have more of it… you make a lot of people very happy.

Catholic Women's League Australia

All those in attendance were most impressed with your energy and skill, and have asked me to request that you return to perform, when your busy schedule permits.

Geegeelup Village

I programmed Deb “Spoons” Perry to perform as part of the main-stage program of TEDxSydney 2016. As part of her performance, we engaged our audience to participate in an attempt to break the world record for playing spoons. Deb was highly professional and approached this rather daunting task with dedication and attention to detail. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. But most importantly, she is a brilliant entertainer. She had our very sophisticated audience up on their feet, enthusiastically playing spoons, whooping and cheering. Many or our community have subsequently told me that her performance was one of the highlights of their day.
