Effie Zahos is one of Australia’s leading personal finance commentators with more than two decades of experience in consumer finance including banking, finance and property.
Effie is a regular finance expert on a multitude of popular programs. These include The Today Show, A Current Affair and Sky Business News and on radio stations around Australia, Effie specialises in helping Aussies get ahead through personal finance tips and consumer banking awareness.
She is currently Bauer’s Media Finance Editor, integrating financial capability across a portfolio of leading brands including The Australian Women’s Weekly, Elle, Real Living and Harpers Bazar. She also writes for a number of these leading titles.
Effie is an acclaimed author of multiple financial guides. Her most recent From Converse to Louboutins: A Real Girl’s Guide To Money, is a call to action for women to take control of their finances. She is also author of a children’s financial literacy book, The Great $20 Adventure, aimed at help young Australians increase their financial literacy
Media: Effie is best known for her role as the editor of Money magazine having helped establish it back in 1999. Her initiative of having an awards issue - the Best of the Best - was ground breaking at the time and continues to be relevant 19 years on.
Education: Effie has a degree in Economics from the University of Queensland.
