John Simpson isn’t just a journalist—he’s a living chronicle of modern history. As the BBC’s World Affairs Editor, John has spent nearly six decades on the frontlines of global events, earning his place as one of the most revered foreign correspondents of our time. Often described as the “David Attenborough of news,” John’s voice has become synonymous with trusted reporting and fearless storytelling.

Since joining the BBC in 1966, John has reported from over 140 countries and sat face-to-face with more than 200 of the world’s most powerful and often controversial leaders. From Mandela to Putin, Gorbachev to Gaddafi and every major political player in between, he’s been there, asking the questions and reporting that, that matters most.

With over 16 books to his name and a trophy shelf that includes three BAFTAs, an International Emmy, a Peabody and multiple RTS Journalist of the Year awards, John’s influence on journalism is unparalleled. In 1991, he was awarded a CBE in recognition of his outstanding contribution to broadcasting.
