Katherine Wolfgramme is an award-winning Trans Advocate and Gender Diversity Consultant. She is the official Ambassador of The Gender Centre contributing writer and journalist for Star Observer and former board member of Wear It Purple, Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras and Producer of Transgender Day of Remembrance in Sydney.
Current Work:
Katherine was born with gender dysphoria, and in 1990 at the age of 18, started her transition. While the start to her journey is not unique - what is remarkable is that after three decades, she wishes to share her knowledge and experience to help reduce misunderstanding towards her community.
Katherine’s vision is to help create a language of understanding so that cultural safety exists for transgender people in the broader community.
Katherine does not consider herself an activist or feminist. She prefers the term advocate because she will initiate change if required, and she believes in respect, equality and social justice for all genders.
