Lani
Pallister

Olympic Gold Medallist

Profile

A second-generation Australian Dolphin and goddaughter of swimming legend Dawn Fraser, Lani Pallister is now creating her own legacy in the pool.

Inspired by her lineage and a relationship with the water that started in nippers, Lani has stamped herself as an emerging force in middle and long distance international swimming.

After being crowned Swimmer of the Meet after a dominant performance at the 2019 World Junior Swimming Championships in Budapest, Lani was selected to make her senior team debut in the same city at the 2022 World Championships, winning silver in the 4x200m freestyle relay and a bronze in the 1500m freestyle.

A few weeks later, she made her Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham, where she won bronze in the 800m freestyle and reached the final of the 400m freestyle, before shooting to stardom with four gold medals at the World Short Course Championships in Melbourne to finish the year.

Lani made her Olympic Games debut in Paris, winning Gold as a member of the 4x200m Freestyle Relay team and now has her sights firmly set on LA2028!

Lani’s incredible resilience as an athlete has also served her well in significant challenges away from the pool, having undergone heart surgery to repair supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), as well as overcoming the incredible trauma of an eating disorder.

Away from the pool Lani is an avid traveller, coffee connoisseur and remains a passionate Clubbie, proudly representing the black and yellow cap of her club Alexandra Headland SLSC whenever she can.
