I am so privileged to be working in a career where I can help others by sharing their stories and hopefully change their lives even if only in some small way.
Loretta Ryan is a familiar and trusted voice on 612 ABC Brisbane, with a radio career spanning more than 40 years.
She began straight out of school at St Rita’s College, working at Brisbane’s Radio Ten across scheduling, production and news, before spending 16 years at Triple M in the newsroom and as a co-host of a sports and entertainment program.
Loretta later moved into presenting roles at 4BH and 4BC, before joining the ABC, where she has hosted regional Drive, weekends and now the Brisbane Breakfast program alongside Craig Zonca.
In addition to radio, Loretta has worked in television and is a sought-after MC and moderator.
Passionate about community, she is an ambassador for Broken to Brilliant, supporting survivors of domestic violence, and is actively involved with The Forgotten Women project and Rosies – Friends on the Street.
Talking Points
I just wanted to express my sincere thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to be MC at the SRC Carnival you did a fantastic job and everyone was very impressed. ... keep reading Spring Racing Carnival
The 'Women on Top' book launch was a great success in Loretta's capable hands: she was thoroughly versed on the purpose and running order of the event and brought her warm, articulate, friendly and thoroughly professional hosting skills to the podium, keeping things moving and adding her personal touch when applicable. During the event we also raised money for Bravehearts, and Loretta's ability to enthuse the crowd to support that worthy charity enabled them to gather financial support and to spread the word about their cause. The evening was a great success, with much positive feedback over the following days; we attribute much of that to Loretta's professional and thorough approach to the role of MC at this fabulous book launch.
