Melina Sarris is an award-winning reporter and presenter with 7NEWS Melbourne, bringing more than 15 years of experience in television journalism.
She graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Journalism in 2010, having already begun her career in 2009 as Chief of Staff Assistant in the Nine News newsroom. She went on to work as a reporter for Prime7 in Bendigo and Albury, and later as a reporter and newsreader at 3AW, before joining the 7NEWS Melbourne team in 2012.
Throughout her career, Melina has built a reputation for breaking significant stories and delivering trusted coverage of major news events. She received a Melbourne Press Club Quill Award for an investigation that led to changes in Victoria's prison day-release laws.
At Seven, Melina has held a variety of on-air roles, including Weekend Weather Presenter, and regularly fills in at the news desk for afternoon and weekend national news bulletins. She has covered some of Australia's biggest events, including the AFL Grand Final, the Melbourne Cup Carnival, and the Australian Open, as well as major breaking news stories ranging from bushfires and floods to community events such as the Royal Melbourne Show and the Brownlow Medal red carpet. She currently serves as Property Editor for 7NEWS Melbourne.
Beyond the newsroom, Melina is a passionate advocate for the community. She is an ambassador for KidSafe and the Good Friday Appeal and has been part of the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal broadcast for more than a decade.
Melina is also a proud mother of two children, Romeo and Clover. She has spoken openly about her experience with secondary infertility and miscarriage, sharing her story through podcasts and publications to help raise awareness and support others facing similar challenges.
