Beginning her swimming career at just 14, Nicole Livingstone (née Stevenson) will go down in history as one of Australia's most successful female backstrokers.
Her determination to achieve personal best in all aspects of her life makes her a great MC or motivational speaker at any seminar or corporate function.
Nicole covers an array of topics in her presentations, from the importance of teamwork and the role a great leader plays to amazing tales from her Olympic days.
A co-founder with sister Karen of Ovarian Cancer Australia and now Patron of the organisation, Nicole is currently an expert commentator and host of Channel Ten's sports channel ONE HD and a frequent panel member of The Project. The mother of three is also a board member of the State Centre Trust and Chair of the Victorian Government's Community Advisory Committee for Positive Body Image.
Medals: With an international career spanning 12 years, Nicole's achievements include an Olympic silver medal and two Olympic bronze medals across three Games (Seoul in 1988, Barcelona in 1992 and Atlanta in 1996); six gold, two silver and a bronze Commonwealth Games medal in three appearances; and four gold, two silver and a bronze medal at six Pan Pacific Championships. Nicole also broke a world record in the 200m backstroke (short course) in 1992, and started the longest winning sequence of any Australian swimmer in history at the national titles, winning 10 consecutive 100m backstroke titles between 1987 and 1996.
A great ambassador for Australian sport, Nicole was the recipient of the Medal of the Order of Australia in June 1997 and the Australian Sports Medal in July 2000, and was inducted into the Victorian Women's Honour Roll in 2006.
