Sabina Read is a psychologist who works with organisations, groups, individuals, couples and families on relationships, well-being, stress, mental health, career development, leadership, change, life transitions, job loss, and parenting. She is passionate about normalising the universality of the human experience, believing that we all have more in common than we often realise.

Sabina lives in Melbourne where she navigates the swings and roundabouts of life with her husband, two teenage daughters, two rescue dogs, and occasional hits of dark peppermint chocolate.

Current Work

Sabina is the Resident Psychologist and Social Commentator on Channel 7’s The Morning Show and The Daily Edition; and the top-rating Afternoons program at Radio 3AW.

Sabina is listed on the Media Referral expert database with The Australian Psychological Society. She is also a Consultant Psychologist and Coach with Transitioning Well and Corporate Health Management; and she has worked with numerous corporates and government departments as a speaker, spokesperson, facilitator and content provider; including Jemena, SEEK, realestate.com.au, NAB, Amaysim, Coffee Club, ANZ, Healthscope, Coles, and Ford.

Previous Experience

Media: She was the host and mentor on Dream Job, an original 8-week TV series airing on Channel 9, following 16 Australians on their journey to finding a new career path; was an expert on Season 1 of Channel 9’s observational documentary, Married at First Sight; and her expertise and comments are regularly sought in lifestyle, business and women’s media nationally.

Communications: In addition to her expertise and interest in human behaviour, Sabina is also a communications specialist, with significant experience working in public relations and marketing roles in Melbourne, San Francisco and London. During this time, Sabina worked in both in-house and consulting roles, with a variety of clients across a range of sectors including retail, consumer, telecommunications, health, hospitality, education, the arts, gaming, and professional services.

It also offers tangible and practical strategies to help manage stress, with the primary assumption that we all have the capacity to implement positive changes to maximise well-being, so we can cope with both the minor and major stressors that are inevitable across the lifespan; and improve productivity and life satisfaction as a result.

Creating a Mentally Healthy Workplace

A mentally healthy workplace acknowledges and addresses risk factors, and fosters protective factors; however, many individuals, teams, and workplaces are unclear how to best cultivate a mentally healthy organisation. This workshop outlines the key risk and protective factors, addresses and explains mental health related-issues including depression, anxiety, and suicide; equips attendees to have healthy and appropriate conversations within the workplace to support themselves and each other, and breaks down mental health-related stigmas in a supportive and open environment.

Many people claim money is their primary motivator to work, however research suggests that most of us are driven by deeper intrinsic motivators including mastery, autonomy and purpose.
