Sharelle McMahon is one of Australia’s greatest and most recognizable athletes. Following her immensely successful career as a Diamond, Sharelle now devotes her time to keynote speaking.

Current work

Following her retirement in 2013, Sharelle is still involved in the netball world, making regular commentary on the Nine Network.

Previous experience

Netball: Sharelle first played netball at the age of seven and has since become one of Australia’s greatest representatives in the sport. Since debuting for Australia in the 21/U team in 1996, Sharelle has successfully captained Australia more than 100 times throughout her career. Furthermore, Sharelle’s appearances for Australia have been accompanied by great success including Gold in the World Championships in 1999, 2007 and 2011 as well as gold during the 1998 and 2002 Commonwealth Games. Perhaps Sharelle’s finest international career accolade was the captaining of the Commonwealth Games side in 2010 as well as being the country’s prestigious flag-bearer.

National: On a national level, McMahon played for the Melbourne Phoenix for 11 seasons, winning 5 championships. She then went on to play for the Melbourne Vixens in their inaugural 2008 season and further, won the Trans-Tasman Title with them in 2009. Not only did McMahon achieve such success, she was also awarded the Vixens’ MVP for 2009 and 2010.

Hall of Fame: In 2016, Sharelle was inducted into the SportsAustralia Hall of Fame.
