Steve
Coleman

CEO of RSPCA New South Wales

Profile

Starting as an Inspector all the way to the CEO of RSPCA NSW, for over 30 years Steve Coleman has had a rich and diverse career in one of the most challenging and misunderstood sectors in Australia.

After starting his working life as a private Investigator, what started as a spur of the moment job application, turned into a lifelong dedication to the protection of animals in NSW, and the support of some of the most underserved, marginalised communities in NSW. The skills he has honed throughout his career have given Steve a keen ability to understand human behaviour and how to motivate people to take action.

Now in his role as CEO, Steve leads the largest Animal Welfare organisation in Australia with authenticity and the kind of vision that see’s lasting and impactful change happen.

Alongside his leadership skills, Steve has an extensive background in animal welfare, government relations and the justice system that has allowed him to spend the majority of his career focusing in on understanding what makes people tick. Drawing on his rich library of real-life experiences and dynamic storytelling, Steve shows audiences how they already have the tools to develop strong key relationships, to make a difference to people (or animals!) in their world, and how to turn life’s lemons into lemonade.
