Tilly Lucas-Rodd is an elite AFLW athlete and influential voice in Australian sport. Drafted by Carlton in the inaugural AFLW draft, Lucas-Rodd debuted in the league’s first-ever match in 2017 and has since built an outstanding career across Carlton, St Kilda, Hawthorn and GWS.
Across more than 90 AFLW games, Lucas-Rodd has excelled through the midfield and defence, consistently ranking among the competition’s most prolific ball winners. Averaging over 20 disposals per game in recent seasons, they have been recognised at the highest level with All-Australian selection and have served in leadership roles, including club captain at Hawthorn, where they hold the club games record.
Off the field, Lucas-Rodd is a passionate advocate for inclusion and representation. Openly non-binary and using they/them pronouns, they have become a powerful voice for gender diversity in elite sport. They also made history as the first AFLW player to undergo top surgery while continuing to compete at the elite level, modelling visibility and courage in professional sport. Their advocacy within the LGBTQIA+ community promotes equality, drives meaningful change and inspires others to lead with authenticity.
