Alex Lee is a writer, television presenter, comedian, and actor, with a background in journalism.

Alex can be seen as a guest host of Network Ten’s The Project and is a writer/presenter on the news series WTFAQ (ABC), and hosted ABC’s news quiz show Win the Week. Alex has also made recent appearances on Claire Hooper’s House of Games (ABC), The Weekly, series 2 and 3 of Question Everything, Spicks and Specks (ABC), Would I Lie To You? (Ten), The Cook Up, Celebrity Letters and Numbers (SBS), The Roast of Paul Hogan and The Roast of John Cleese (Seven).

As co-host of current affairs and comedy show The Feed on SBS, Alex wrote and appeared live in-studio and in sketches, which saw Alex and The Feed’s comedy team win the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Australian Writers Guild Award for Comedy – Sketch and Light Entertainment. She also wrote and performed in several original comedy series for The Feed including The Insight Audition Tapes, Cancelled, the musical Open House and created the documentary series Fear Itself, all of which can be seen on SBS on Demand.

Recently, Alex has written for ABC’s comedy series Gold Diggers as well as writing and presenting on The Checkout, The Chaser’s Election Desk, The Roast and Saturday Night Rove (Channel 10). She has also appeared on Media Circus (ABC), Story Club (ABC2), The Other Guy (Stan) The Letdown (Netflix), The Fall Guy (Universal) and can next be seen in Play Dirty (Amazon Prime). Prior to that Alex worked as a journalist, producer and newsreader on ABC News and as a political reporter for digital news site BuzzFeed.

She starred in the hit play Single Asian Female by Michelle Law at La Boite in 2017 and Belvoir St Theatre in 2018. She also plays Dungeons and Dragons live on stage in the cult comedy podcast Dragon Friends, with regular sold-out shows at the Comedy Store, and has toured to Los Angeles, Seattle, Melbourne and Adelaide, with weekly streams on Twitch. Recently, Alex launched the podcast Baby Shoes which she co-hosts with Humyara Mahbub.

Alex has written and starred in sketch, stand-up and improv shows in the Sydney and Melbourne comedy festivals, including her solo show I’m Eating Peanut Butter In The Shower Because I’m Sad And You’re Not The Boss Of Me. Her other festival credits include The Annual Sydney Comedy Festival Spelling Bee, Geldwelt, There’s A Ghost in My Cupcake, Bunker 5 and The Delusionists. She has taught sketch comedy writing and is an ensemble member at the Improv Theatre Sydney.

Alex is also an experienced MC, hosting various government and corporate events and awards nights.
