High Performance Coach, Mental Health Advocate & Motivational Speaker

Empowering women through training and mental fitness

Dubbed the “Brené Brown of Down Under” by those who have heard her story, Alexa Towersey is a powerful voice and positive role model in the health and fitness industry. Her recent triumph on Discovery Channel’s highest-rated reality series, Naked and Afraid (Season 17) saw her survive 21 days in the Colombian jungle, showcasing her mental toughness, compassion and infectious humour which quickly captivated audiences worldwide.

With over two decades of experience in the industry, Alexa has excelled as an athlete, sports model, high-performance coach, and celebrity trainer. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology, she further honed her expertise with postgraduate studies in Sports Management and Kinesiology. Voted one of the top three toughest trainers in Asia, Alexa competed in representative-level soccer, Gridiron, and wrestling (WWE style), before qualifying for the 70.3 Ironman World Championships (on a broken foot); and becoming the first female Gym Jones Fully Certified Instructor in Australia, and only the second female worldwide. In 2022, she completed the World’s longest and toughest horse race, “The Mongol Derby” (1000 km across the Mongolian Desert on semi-wild horses), winning the coveted Nomad award for resilience in the process.

Talking Points

Breaking Mental Health Stigma

Breaking the stigma around mental health and advocating for our mental and physical fitness.

Alexa came to present to the Citi Women’s Network as part of our Women of Influence lunch series. Alexa presented to a group of 50 attendees and was extremely professional. We found her session both invigorating and thoroughly inspiring as she shared her personal story on how she got to where she is today. Alexa’s passion and resilience for her business make her an excellent role model for all of us. She is a fantastic presenter to a corporate audience and we would gladly welcome her back, highly recommended. Citi Women's Network

Alexa was amazing. Incredible feedback on the night and for many weeks since has been huge. We even had a one live example of the impact when one attendee rang a mate during the speech and had to leave to go and see his mate. His mate had been struggling recently and her talk prompted the phone call. He made the call and the mate asked him to come over. A real and great outcome.
