Anne Edmonds is the rock star of Australian comedy, and everybody knows it.
Her fearless stand-up is a masterclass in taking aim at any worthy target, no matter how close to home it is, as exemplified in her most recent solo stand-up show Why Is My Bag All Wet, filmed for Paramount + which secured her the 2025 AACTA Award for Best Stand-Up Comedy.
Known for her no-nonsense attitude, she’s not one to tolerate any level of bullshit. And as any of her many alter egos, Anne transforms into characters that are both terrifying and familiar in equal measure, most famous of which is the iconic Helen Bidou, the fashion and beauty ‘krackspert’ on ABC’s Get Krack!n.
Anne continues to be a familiar face on Australian TV screens, appearing on Network Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention? and Thank God You’re Here as well as Fisk, Taskmaster Australia and Celebrity Gogglebox.
She’s also hosted the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Opening Night Gala and most recently Eddo took the reigns as host of Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Gen, bringing her sharp wit and unique perspective to exploring generational differences.
Her latest project, Bad Company, is a new 6-part comedy series for ABC TV that is created by, written by and starring Anne. It brings her signature bite to a bold new creation and sees her join forces with Kitty Flanagan.
She has never been better or darker or more resolutely funny. "unaffected charm and sheer comic brilliance... ????½" Herald Sun "Hilarious from start to finish ???? Broadway Baby, Edin ... keep reading Daily Review
