He is the founder of Bluetongue Harmonica and a respected figure in the Australian music community, including serving as a judge at the Tamworth Harmonica Championships and directing the Australian Harmonica Festival.

Zoos Victoria engaged ‘Blues Jam’ for our 2-day intensive leadership program to provide a quirky method of team engagement, some light relief and to uncover any hidden talent of our future leaders. We scored on all points. Bluetongue’s amazing program was one of the highlights of the leadership program, great fun, uncovered some musical talent, and all prized their take-home harmonicas.
The harmonica workshop was brilliant on many levels. As a team-building event, the workshop enabled everyone to get to know each other in a fun and energetic way. The workshop was a wonderful break and momentary diversion from the seriousness of an extended conference. The workshop was very inclusive as even those who had no musical talent were able to grasp the basics of playing the harmonica.
Who knew that a crash-course in blues harmonica would be just the thing to inspire a virtually all-female group of young television execs. In just one hour, Doug managed to get the team playing together and having a blast in the process, without having to resort to any of the cheesy team-building stuff we've all seen before. I'd recommend Doug to anyone looking to give their people a fun, fresh and authentic experience they'll remember for years.
