Brodie Young has quickly developed a reputation as a vibrant, energetic and enthusiastic host and MC, working successfully across all media platforms, from radio to television, for well over a decade. A significant stepping stone was landing the role as the zany host of the late-night TV game show, Quizmania on Chanel 9 in 2007. His ability to talk under water, think quickly and respond appropriately, allows him to take on roles with enthusiasm and confidence, whilst never straying from his carefree nature.
Brodie is a familiar, friendly face, and can be seen daily, as a host of the “What’s On In The Warehouse” advertorials for Chemist Warehouse, on pretty much every station nationally. Additionally, whether it was on the Morning Show on Chanel 7, or in the middle of most of Melbourne’s sporting grounds, pumping up his mighty Magpies at the MCG, or over the road at AAMI Park as the Storm’s on ground MC, Brodie is known to be a versatile, consummate funny professional.
Sports Presentation is his bread and butter, across all codes, from the NBL to the BBL, he’s a trusted, friendly and familiar face. Just put a microphone in his hand and stand back; from the event stage to the big screen, breakfast radio to national live broadcast, his confidence and energy are contagious.
This reputation sees clients repeatedly booking him annually, representing brands such as Johnnie Walker, Schweppes, Cadbury and Emirates. He has repeatedly fronted events such as the AFL Grand Final, Australian Open, The Melbourne Grand Prix, multiple charity gala balls, and lifestyle events such as the Dog Lovers Show and Royal Melbourne Show, with audiences in the hundreds of thousands. His on-camera presence and quick, light-hearted wit has provided an easy choice for clients looking to appeal to the impressionable 15-35 demographic.
Brodie also regularly donates his time to such charity organisations as the Cancer Council Victoria, Camp Quality, TLC, The K.I.D.S. Foundation, PLAN, The Royal Children’s Hospital and the JDRF, and is an Ambassador for the Skin & Cancer Foundation, and hosts the World’s Greatest Shave for the Leukaemia Foundation annually.
He achieves balance in his spontaneous, topsy-turvy, “Jack-of-all-trades” lifestyle by taking a keen interest in art, having now had several successful exhibitions for photography and painting, and completed his Bachelor of Design in 2005. He is also a registered marriage celebrant, loves the music festival scene, and doesn’t mind getting his green thumb dirty, actively designing and constructing gardens and landscapes for not only his family home, but family, friends and his wider community.
Brodie is mindful of the importance of time management, balancing family and work commitments. He supports his wife, Ashlea, in her event planning business, and is also a loving and devoted Dad to an energetic toddler, Vander, bubbly eight-year- old girl, Eden, a baby sister to his energetic 11 year old boy, Marley.
