Bronwyn Kuss is a writer and comedian who specialises in giving extremely dry recounts of everyday tragedies to astonishing comedic effect.
So astonishingly in fact, that Bronwyn’s debut solo show saw her win the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Directors’ Choice Award and get nominated for Best Newcomer. In 2024, she won the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Pinder Prize – a prize which supported Bronwyn with her debut at the Edinburgh Fringe.
She has featured on the ABC TV Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala, appeared on The Weekly with Charlie Pickering, performed at Just For Laughs Australia, and supported the likes of Hannah Gadsby, Nish Kumar and Mel Buttle. As noted by The Age, Bronwyn’s act “is a polished gem that only gets brighter each year.” So bright in fact, that she is blazing a path that cannot be replicated.
She is also an in-demand TV writer having worked on season 2 of Guy Montgomery’s Guy-Mont Spelling Bee and as a regular writer on The Project.
Bronwyn is potentially the only person in comedy to have the unique combination of having worked in Brisbane women’s correctional facilities, represent Queensland in Under 16’s Softball and possess university degrees in both Exercise Science and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television. A proper renaissance woman, but to her rescue dogs, she’s just mum.
