Daisy Pearce is a highly respected AFLW pioneer and the current Senior Coach of the West Coast Eagles.
Born in Bright, Victoria, Daisy rose to prominence as a marquee signing and inaugural captain of Melbourne’s AFLW side, leading them to a premiership in Season 7 (2022). She is a three‑time All‑Australian, a four‑time AFLPA Best Captain, and a three‑time Club Best & Fairest. Her influence has been further recognised through the naming of both the Lambert‑Pearce Medal and Melbourne’s Best & Fairest trophy in her honour.
Daisy’s on‑field legacy includes over 200 state‑league games for the Darebin Falcons, where she captained the team to seven premierships, and 55 AFLW games for Melbourne, culminating in the Season 7 Grand Final victory. In 2025, she was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame. Transitioning seamlessly from player to coach, Daisy worked with Geelong’s AFL program in 2023 before being appointed Senior Coach of the West Coast Eagles AFLW program in 2024, where she has delivered the club’s best early‑season results to date.
Off the field, Daisy holds a Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery from La Trobe University and has practised as a midwife. Since 2016, she has also been a prominent media figure, featuring on Seven’s AFL commentary team, SEN radio and hosting the podcast This Is Grit. In 2021, she became the first female analyst at the AFL Grand Final and earned the Australian Football Media Association’s Best Opinion/Analysis award.
