Dave Woodhead is a stand-up comedian, writer, actor, broadcaster and sweetie pie.
A Torres Strait Islander man hailing from Darwin, Dave started doing comedy in 2014 at the age of 16.
Two years later, he was a national finalist at the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s RAW Comedy competition. He was then chosen by the festival to perform as part of Comedy Zone in 2019, a handpicked selection of Australia’s best up and comers.
After a few pesky pandemic postponements, Dave is gearing up to perform his debut Melbourne Comedy Festival show “Lunch for Dinner” in 2023.
An acclaimed and in-demand writer, actor and performer, Dave has worked on numerous TV shows including Amazon Prime’s sketch comedy series The Moth Effect, ABC TV’s Get Krackin’ & Preppers various indigenous kids’ series including Thalu & Barrumbi Kid, ABC Comedy’s Fresh Blood pilot Be Your Own Boss & SBS Viceland program The Feed.
He was also a writer and cast member of the brilliant and award-winning ABC TV Indigenous sketch comedy series Black Comedy.
