I didn’t find myself at the finish line. I found myself every time I wanted to quit and didn’t.
Fran Hurndall is a world record breaking endurance athlete, former semi professioanl footballer, and powerful voice for domestic and family violence awareness.
In 2025, Fran became the fastest woman in history to run across Australia, completing 3,800km from Perth to Sydney in just 60 days. But this run wasn’t about chasing records. It was about breaking silence. Fuelled by her own family’s experience with domestic violence, Fran launched the Reach Out Speak Up campaign to give voice to those who often go unheard.
Over the years, Fran has raised more than $100,000 for charitable causes through bold, purpose driven challenges. In 2023, she made headlines and set a Guinness World Record by dribbling a soccer ball over 1,000km from the Gold Coast to Sydney during the FIFA Women’s World Cup, being the first person to ever do so, a campaign that spotlighted gender equality in sport.
Before becoming an ultra runner, Fran was a standout footballer who represented England at youth level and Arsenal Academy and was later named a finalist in the FIFA Best Awards 2023. Her transition from elite sport to extreme endurance has become a platform for storytelling, advocacy, and change.
Fran’s message is clear: resilience is messy, purpose is powerful, and the strength we need is already within us. She speaks with raw honesty about burnout, grief, pressure, and the unglamorous reality behind extraordinary feats and in doing so, she gives others permission to keep going, too.
Her signature mantra “We Keep Going” has become more than a phrase. It’s a movement.
Whether she’s addressing corporate audiences, schools, sporting communities or national platforms, Fran doesn’t just inspire, she ignites something lasting.
