Grace Gill is a former Australian footballer and now expert commentator, football analyst, and MC.
Grace began her playing career in Canberra, making her way through to the Young Matildas and Matildas teams, representing Australia as the youngest of the 2006 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup squad in Russia. Grace spent time abroad, playing in the Czech Republic’s first Division for FC Slovácko.
A foundation member of the A-League Women and two-time Premiership and Championship winning side, Canberra United, Grace amassed 58 appearances for the club and continues to be an important part of the Canberra football community. Grace spent a term as a Director on the Board at Capital Football, while also moving into broadcast and media.
Grace’s transition from the pitch to the commentary box has been nothing short of inspiring. Since retiring from the A-League in 2016, Grace hasn’t missed a beat – working for ABC Radio and TV, Fox Sports, SBS, Network 10, Channel 7, Channel 9 and streaming platforms Paramount + and Stan. Highlights include being the only female co-commentator and pundit in the A-League Men’s competition, co-commentating the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023 with Channel 7, as well as the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with Channel 9, before becoming the first ever Matilda to be the main caller of a national football match in June 2025.
Alongside her commentary and pundit work, Grace is an MC with experience across corporate and sporting events for universities, businesses, and high-end functions across Australia.
