Greg
Phillips

From AFL Legend to Proud Father

Profile

Greg Phillips is celebrated for his excellence in Australian rules football, where he excelled as a dominant centre half-back with Port Adelaide and Collingwood, and as a strategic leader and premiership captain. He won eight SANFL premierships, was All-Australian in 1980, Port Adelaide best-and-fairest in 1988, and served as club captain from 1991 to 1993, leading the 1992 premiership side. His football intellect shaped game tactics and influenced rule changes—embedding his legacy in the sport’s evolution.

Greg’s status was affirmed with induction into the South Australian Football Hall of Fame (2002, inaugural class) and the Australian Football Hall of Fame (2020). Beyond elite football, he continues to shape future talent through coaching in the Adelaide Plains Football League. As a father, he has supported his daughter's exceptional journey, AFLW superstar Erin Phillips.

Greg speaks with authority on leadership, resilience, tactical thinking, legacy building, and high-performance culture in sport—and how these qualities translate to business and team success.
