Matilda & Olympian, Hayley Raso, is one of Australia’s leading global sporting stars, stealing the hearts of Australians both on and off the field after her performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Her standout performance, led to her being nominated as one of only two Australians for the 2023 Ballon d’Or, football’s most coveted individual award. Hailing from the Gold Coast, Hayley debuted for the Matilda’s in 2012 after starting her career playing for Canberra United, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory. Her international career began in 2016 when she moved to the US to play for Washington Spirit before signing with Portland Thorns FC, and later moved to the U.K to play for Everton and Manchester City. In 2023 Real Madrid, one of the world’s leading clubs, announced the signing of Hayley as the first ever Australian player to play for the club.
Hayley’s toughest journey came in 2018, after she broke her back in an on-field collision, leaving her uncertain as to whether she would ever play football.
