Jordan Barr has her finger on the cultural pulse, as comfortable hosting as she is acting, she has impressive range.
Known to many as the host of Weekend Breakfast on triple j, she’s a true slashy – a comedian/actor/musical theatre performer/writer.
Jordan’s comedy is personal, relatable, and unapologetically queer. She has a unique ability to connect to generations of audiences with her encyclopaedic knowledge of the cultural zeitgeist. I mean, who else can explain the nuances of TLCs Sister Wives, while explaining which planets in the solar system represent the children from The Sound of Music.
After graduating with a Musical Theatre degree at the Victoria College of Arts, Jordan became a part of the Melbourne stand-up scene through various theatre, musical, sketch and comedy shows. She has now performed numerous solo shows at comedy festivals Nationally, debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe, appeared on the prestigious Melbourne Comedy Festival Upfront gala, and supported the likes of Hannah Gadsby and Cat Cohen.
Jordan performed in the MTC season of A Wake – A Woke Mob with Ilbijerri Theatre Company, was a standout in Tom Ballard’s new work JKS: A Comedy (?) at Melbourne Fringe and highlights her improvisational acting talent in web series Hotels.
She is also an in-demand TV and development writer, working on shows such as Spicks and Specks and Question Everything.
